A Brief History of the Cat
The domestic cat (Felis catus) have existed as a companion of humans for over 9,500 years
For a long time it was believed that the cat was first domesticated in ancient Egypt, were the cat was worshiped as a cult animal. However it is now believed that the domestic cat derived from the ‘African Wildcat’
Over the years there have been many myths attributed to the cat the most popular being that it has nine lives. Also that when falling it will always land on it’s feet.
Cats are now the most common house pet there are over 600,000.000 world wide
